The Ammeux operation farms 180 hectares of potato plants for a total production of 6,000 tons per year in addition to another 170 hectares of ware potatoes for a total of 9,000 tons per year.
The different varieties of potatoes (Colomba, Kennebec, Manitou, Marabel, Melody, Mozart, Noblesse, Orchestra, Taisiya and others) are all grown, harvested, stored and bagged directly on-site. Ammeux offers packaging of potatoes in bulk, Bigbag, 10kg, 15kg, 20kg, 25kg, 50kg jute or yarn.
Potatoes Made in France
The Ammeux potatoes are produced in France. The potato plants are produced in Mory’s farm in Pas-de-Calais while the ware potatoes are produced in Lesboeufs in the Somme. A recognised player in the production and distribution of seed potatoes, Ferme Ammeux exports its production abroad, particularly to Europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, etc.) where Ammeux potatoes are appreciated for their quality and their French origin.
Production of Various Potato Strains
The Ammeux farm also produces potato strains from transplants. This ensures the quality of the seed potatoes, with excellent traceability, but also allows us to produce exclusive potato varieties, and thus to stand out. The production of such strains begins in the greenhouse where the transplant are planted and allowed to mature. They are then harvested by hand before being planted in the fields and then harvested to be sold to famers as fully-certified potatoes for human consumption. This ensures that the strains are monitored and the health quality of the potatoes is guaranteed.
